The Galloway Cattle and Beef Marketing Association Inc. Australia has two events that will allow you to enhance your Galloway experience in the Southern Hemisphere and meet enthusiastic Galloway and Belted Galloway breeders in Australia. Galloways/Belted Galloways will be feature breed at the 2008 Maitland Show 15th and 16th February 2008. Maitland is a large provincial city around 200km north of Sydney and has excellent transport links to Sydney as well as having excellent accommodation facilities. There will also be a dinner for all cattle breeders on Friday 15th Feb. organised by the GC&BMA which naturally will feature Galloway beef. Come and join the local Galloway and Belted Galloway breeders, herd visits are welcomed. Maitland is also a focal point for the famed Hunter River wine area, an area producing many world standard wines that are free for tastings. Contact Terry at belties@belties.com.au. Each year up to 80 Galloway and Belted Galloway breeders come together for a dinner to celebrate Canberra Show. The GC&BMA will be hosting a Dinner featuring Galloway beef, haggis and Scottish piper in spectacular Australian surroundings on Saturday 23rd Feb ’08. Canberra is 300km south west of Sydney and is Australia’s National Capital, it has many attractions as well as excellent transport links to Sydney.
